CALL TO ORDER Call to order 7:00 pm. Meeting conducted by L. LeMieux.
Minutes of the last meeting approved electronically.
PUBLIC COMMENTS None. Eleven guests were present for the meeting.
CHANGES TO AGENDA There were no changes to the agenda as published and distributed.

Treasurer's Report It was a stable year. The Genesee Free-Net is financially healthy.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Web Site Committe Reported by Chad Cramer. The look of the Genesee Free-Net Web Site has changed over the past year. There is an average 25,000 page views per week. Web based e-mail, e-mail forwarding, a search engine, and a tutorial have been added. There are 871 links to other resources.
Office Committee L. LeMieux introduced the office staff. The move from Genesee District Library to Tucows was reported. GDL needed the office space for its operations. The office will move to the Resource Center in November.
Systems Administration Wayne Schneider, Chairman of the Systems Administration Committee, reported there are three severs located at Genesee District Library. The members of the committee are C. Cramer, L. LeMieux, and K. Thomas.
The Genesee Free-Net uses Michnet dial in service sharing modem pools. We purchase modems in the pools and pay for their maintenance. We receive support 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and an Internet connection. The Free-Net has modems in two pools:

Southeast Michigan - own 90 and share 34 with the GFEC. There are 1,495 modems in this pool.
Their are 1,757 user accounts so there is a ratio of 14.2 users/modem in the Southeast Michigan pool. There is between 60,000 and 70,000 sessions per month. The No Token rate is very low except from January through May.
- Montrose - the Free-Net does not own any but shares 3 modems with Genesee District Library. There are 17 modems. There are between 1500 and 2000 sessions per month. The No Token rate is much higher.
Nominating Committee J. Preston introduced members Matt Lewicki, P. Peterson, Sol Johnson, and J. Preston. Nominations:
Terms expiring 12/31/02: Matthew Groulx. There is one more open position.
Terms expiring 12/31/03: There are three more open positions.
Terms expiring 12/31/04: Jon McCarron and L. Griffin.
The election will be held by electronic ballot before the next meeting.
New Membership Structure G. Viele reported on the new organizational and individual user accounts. There are new structures for charter member and volunteer accounts.
Recognition of Retiring Officers and Directors: Gifts were presented to the following long time Genesee Free-Net supporters.
Mary Ann Chick Whiteside has been a Genesee Free-Net member since April of 1994 as a charter member.
Johanna Brown, also a charter member, has been a member since November of 1994.
Scott Swedorski was a board member from 2000 to 2001.
Nancy Darby served as a volunteer in the Genesee Free-Net office.
