Call to order 5:15 pm. Meeting conducted by V. Lotfi. 

OFFICER COMMENTS:

Chair: Vahid passed the proof of the new brochure around.  

He summarized the goals feedback tally.  The top three looked like marketing and membership, updating the web site, the infrastructure, and the e-mail system.  He is still getting feedback.

He reported on the Marketing Committee.  It needs a new chair.  Gary V. volunteered.  The board thanks J. Preston for his input and work on the project.  The committee now consists of Georgia, Pat, and Lynette.

Vice Chair and Secretary:  No comments.

Treasurer's Report:  Kay made a motion to amend last month's budget to show a $2000 user fees and $2000 expense to Merit.  Larry supported.  The motion passed unanimously

Web Site Committee:  

Chad absent.  Ron is working on organizing the web site.  It will be assigned as an initiative to a committee for design and content.

Office Report by Larry:  The money part of the database is being added.  This will allow for a report to the treasurer.

There is a problem with the phone system problem of customers getting a busy signal.  The office recommended their solution.  The board endorsed it.

Larry gets data from the Office Report, but wants the information to go directly to the database eventually.

Technical Committee:

Kenny Thomas reported the new tape drive on the system server is causing problems.  A new replacement is being shipped.  It should be installed on Saturday.

They are blocking i.p. addresses known for spam origination.  The list is updated nightly.  The new Watchdog software will be activated once the mail system is up.  The DNS problem was solved by restarting the system.  Web Man will be replaced with a new web interface. 

Next Meeting:  April 22, 2004 at 5:15 pm at the Flint Area Convention and Visitors Bureau in its new location on Water St.
