Vice Chair Larry Porn estimated that only 40%

World Wide dial-in numbers. GFN Webmaster Chad Cramer will make the change.
Larry presented for comment a sample notice to be broadcast periodically to
members about dial-in number changes.
Webmaster Chad Cramer is surveying
content management software that might be used by members to develop personal
Web pages. He and other System Committee members will meet with Tall Pine
Council BSA to discuss content management on their Web site.
Chair Dennis
Cavanaugh requested approval to use $50 to buy advertisement space for GFN in
the May 5thprogram book of the Norton Male Chorus. Vice Chair Larry
Porn moved that the expenditure be approved and Secretary Solomon Johnson
supported the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
The problem of sending e-mail through
Telnet World Wide appears to have been resolved. Scott Gifford and Larry Porn
will investigate the problem of sending e-mail through DSL and broadband
connections by GFN members responding to messages in their inbox. Chad Cramer
related his experience with SMTP Port 25 blocking initiated by telephone
companies. Chad will send information on SMTP Port 25 Opt Out procedure to
Larry.
There was discussion of the Spam problem and the new procedures
being used by spammers to circumvent filtering. Dennis Cavanaugh will check with
Kenny Thomas on the status of the spam filter he is developing and will discuss
with Kenny development of instructions on how members may use the ratings placed
by the Spam Assassin program in e-mail headers to
develop their own spam filters.
Office Committee chair Larry Porn
reported that the office is ~Schugging~T along and working to resolve a few filing
problems.

items on the Web site. Discussed was finding someone to survey the site
