Call to order at 5:18pm. Chair Dennis Cavanaugh presiding.

Scott Gifford has set up a test PayPal account at  http://www.gfn.org/paypal_test/. Denny will send GFN ELGA account routing information to Scott via U.S. Postal mail. There was discussion of possible problems that may be encountered by automating payments to GFN through PayPal.

Larry Porn reported that Comcast is once again shutting down e-mail to/from GFN at 205.145.130.40. It appears that someone in Italy and other countries is using the GFN domain to send spam. Larry used the Spam Score site to see GFN spam listing. However, e-mail to Comcast is routed through MX1 on the server at 205.145.130.40.

Mail Virus Hitting GFN Members.
Scott Gifford reported that it is almost impossible to stop spam e-mail being bounced to GFN members. He suggested that maybe GFN should contact the scoring service about blacklisting GFN.

Status of Server Installation.
Larry Porn determined that the maximum number of Telnet Worldwide lines generally in use simultaneously is about 38 lines. GFN has 46 access lines through Tellnet Worldwide. The new server is expected to be fully live in about one and one-half weeks (1 ½).

Text of Newspaper Ads.
Text developed by Scott Gifford was modified during the meeting. Denny is good to go with advertisements in out county newspapers.

Booth on Sundays at Farmers Market.
Denny Cavanaugh wants to have a booth at the Farmers Market on Sundays. Cost is estimated at $20 a Sunday (booth rate $20 a day.) Permission was granted by acclimation by the Board.

Matters Arising.
It was moved by Larry Porn and seconded by Scott Gifford that the Board meeting start time be changed to 5:00pm. The motioned passed.

Chad Cramer reported that he corrected a problem with Board member Les LeMieux's e-mail configuration.

Scott Gifford will look at the time left database log table in MySql on the mail server with view to purging periodically. The table appears to have become quite large over time, un-necessarily using a large amount of server disk space.

Chad Cramer will be turning on the Web Content Management Software (CMS) soon. He was given the names of staff for whom to set permission to use.

The AVG virus software is no longer offered free. Avast (www.avast.com) is being recommended to members asking staff for a virus program to use.

Denny Cavanaugh will be testing GFN dial-in numbers in the out county areas. He will try to recruit testers at senior citizen centers in Tuscola county.
