Call to order at 5:02pm. Chair Dennis Cavanaugh presiding.

Collocation of GFN Servers.
The sense of the Board was to collocate servers with SectorLink. Larry moved and Scott supported that Board members vote online after being sent comparison quotes for OTC and SectorLink. The motion passed. Anticipated charges for SectorLink are $295 per month for 10U power usage then down to $245 per month for 6U power usage when server applications and data are optimized.

There was discussion of some concerns about OTC. It appears OTC is throttling data transfer rate on GFN servers. Chad reported that it took all night to transfer 500 megabytes of data between the Mail and Web servers. Other concerns in addition to transfer rates from one server to the other included penalties for overuse of bandwidth, hourly fee for labor to fix any problems encountered with OTC equipment ($170/hour) and slow response for repair tickets.

There was lots of system talk between members of the GFN tech team (Larry Porn, Chad Cramer and Scott Gifford) about rearranging the applications on the Mail, Web and RADIUS servers. Larry reported that there was a maximum of 38 members simultaneously dialed into Telnet World Wide last month. About 364 members dialed into Telnet World Wide modems last month. Notification was received that Telnet World Wide will be raising their rates to customers.

Movement of the GFN Office.
Denny Cavanaugh surmised that GFN can save the most on expenses by moving the office no matter where the servers are located. Insurance will be needed whether Bristolwood Community Church or the Resource Genesee is chosen for office relocation. This is a big issue. The last insurance premium was $900 for rent insurance. Mention as possible insurance provider was Sovis Agency in Chesaning. Denny Cavanaugh will investigate. Directors and Officers insurance may also be needed.

A DSL line will be needed at the church. Cost needs to be obtained.

GFN Tech Committee members conversed on how they will have to setup the relocated office computer for access to the database through the Office Interface to the database. Mentioned was an encrypted VTN tunnel to the server from the office computers. Scott will research the issue.

Consultant Reimbursement.
No report. Funds on hold until hours worked received.

Office Report.
Janet Craig corrected the number of Individual Account renewals for June to 27. The office staff is waiting to find out where we are going to move.

Systems Report.
Chad has copied all accounts over from the older server to the old Mail server. DNS is working well with low timeouts. Scott will check on changing DNS registration for server relocation.

Increase of Telnet Modem Costs.
Telnet World Wide modem usage will increase from $15 a modem to $23 a modem. Modem usage is around 264 or 364 users a month with peak simultaneous usage around 30 modems. GFN needs to get more information from Telnet World Wide representative Brian Spry.

Adjournment: 6:36pm.

Next Board Meeting.

Respectfully Submitted,
