Call to order at 5:15pm. Chair Dennis Cavanaugh presiding.
Access Cards and Keys to OTC.
Janet Craig agreed to collect and deliver GFN access key cards and keys to OTC.
Status of Office Move.
The office has been moved to basement space at Bristolwood Community Church. AT&T will move the office phone line (720-2880) to the DSL line and eliminate the temporary installation number at no cost to GFN.
Status of Collocation of GFN Servers to SectorLink.
All GFN servers have been moved to SectorLink. There was considerable discussion among the Tech Committee members of modifications needed to the servers. Committee members will reorganize applications on the Quad CPU server. The program on the Untangle server has been updated to a new version. Some GFN members are having problems sending e-mail through the relocated Mail server. The Tech Committee suspects the problem may be due to Spam processing overload on the Untangle server. Chad has shut down some filters on Untangle to hopefully improve processing speed. Scott Gifford will put together a proposal for Board consideration for a replacement Untangle server. GFN is using 10U at SectorLink which should be reduced to 2U after all shuffling of applications is completed. Scott Gifford will do a VPN tunnel setup for office access to the database to stabilize URL address changes of database location on the server. Denny Cavanaugh will use an IP address as account number for SectorLink payments. There was mention of S3 Amazon Storage Service for possible use for off site backup of GFN servers.
The Board approved paying Richard Crang $110 for the machine he loaned to GFN.
Consultant Reimbursement.
No report was received from Kenny Thomas on service rendered for the month. Fee paid will be $400 since hours worked are not available for consideration by the Board.
Office Report.
Member Bea Savage will be looking for a table and file cabinets for the office. Office manager Janet Craig indicated need for first class stamps for the office.
Note: Office staff member Chris Hall has provided some cabinets donated by his employer.
