Call to order at 5:10pm. Chair Larry Porn presiding.

Financial Report.
Treasurer Denny Cavanaugh reported GFN financial activity to the Board by e-mail before the meeting. A deposit was made to the ELGA Checking account on 09/21/2009 for $1160.00.

Expenses paid 08/24/2009 through 09/10/2009 totaled $2186.94. The Checking account register balance was $2081.13 on 09/21/2009. GFN spent about $1000 more than was taken in, partly due to resolution of billing from Telnet Worldwide. The Savings account register balance was $22,292.98. Total GFN cash assets were $24,374.11.

Secretary Comments.
After the Board meeting Chad Cramer showed how to upload the Board minutes to the GFN Website. However, later attempts to edit links for the months being uploaded through the CMS software resulted in loss of all minutes for 2009 on the Website.

Office Report.
Office Cleanup: Office staff now know where almost everything is filed.
New XP Box Installed: Richard Crang installed a DVD drive before the XP machine was setup for office use. Problems with the Linksys router and DSL modem have slowed progress of putting the machine in use.
Phones: The magicJack and AT&T telephones appear to be functioning properly now.
VPN/Router/etc.: Changes were made to the DSL modem settings. The defective DSL modem was returned to AT&T. After the Board meeting, Scott Gifford worked on, and apparently resolved, the problems between the modem and router. VPN is working great.

Systems Report.
The RADIUS and Mail functions are still running on the old server. The DNS server and the Web server are functioning on the DELL machine. Websites hosted by GFN include SJV and MBEA. Drupal Web content management software is working well with SJV. C/CAN (Consortium on Child Abuse and Neglect) soon may migrate its Drupal website to GFN. Montessori and Community of Christ Church sites are projected as possible Drupal based website developments on GFN.

The Board decided not to pursue putting the GFN logo on the Untangle server. Scott, Chad and Larry plan to do something about backing up database and GFN system data next month (October.)

123.com modems are now running with monitoring software. Ten modems were subscribed, but once twelve (12) were in use by GFN. Telnet World Wide service has been cut to one PRI line or twenty-three (23) modems at rate of $19 a modem per month. 123.com modem rate was quoted at $15 a modem per month.

Systems advised that port 465 be set as the SMTP port instead of port 25 and that port 995 be set as the POP3 port in member email client setup.

Other Old Business.
Preparation continues for the Annual GFN meeting and Board elections in October. The November and December Board meetings will be combined on a meeting date in early December.

Preliminary presentation topics for the Annual meeting include Drupal development by Scott Gifford. Other presenters likely will be the Chair, Treasurer and Chad Cramer for GFN Systems changes.

New Business.
The system consultant worked eight (8) hours for the month. $240 was authorized by the Board as payment.
