Call to order at 5:14pm. Board Chair Larry Porn presiding.

Financial Report.
Treasurers Report.
There was no formal Treasurers report. There was considerable discussion of the lost check reported by Kenny Thomas and how to resolve the issue. It could not be verified that a replacement check had not been issued in late 2005 (November or December.) Denny and Larry will visit ELGA Credit Union to research GFN statements for the $1100 check.

GFN Status.
GFN is getting some applications for new accounts. Apparently one dial-up provider has gone out of business.

There was some discussion of the Google initiative to deploy ultra high speed fiber optic Internet networks in some under served areas. Questioned was whether GFN might be interested in competing for consideration. Nicki Hodge seemed interested looking into what would be required to be a competitor.

Secretary Comments.
Chad will post the January Board minutes to the GFN Website.

Office Report.
Bristolwood Community of Christ now has Internet access through Baker College. The church is owed $200 by GFN for office space use as well as the amount for the current month. Scott Gifford moved that GFN pay Bristolwood church the $200 owed and for this month. Nicky Hodge supported the motion. The motion carried.

The replacement LinkSys router is working but the VPN setup has a problem with multiple configuration files. Nicki invited Board members to deliver more GFN brochures to Genesee District Library branches.

Systems Report.
Chad and Scott are still working to migrate system files to the DELL. Scott will concentrate on moving the Mail server. There was discussion among system committee members on approaches to implementing moves. The Saint John Vianney mail accounts will need special attention because SJV has its own domain name. Chad has talked with Joe Bean who is working on implementing a calendar for SJV.

Modems.
Larry presented stats on 123.com and Telnet Worldwide modems usage and emphasized making better usage of the PRI line pool of 23 modems.

Other Old Business.
The Michigan Non Profit Association grant application GFN submitted was approved. The twenty-five (25) hours of consultation should be completed by the end of May 2010.

New Business.
The hours worked by the system consultant and resolution of a lost payment check is the concern. The GFN Treasurer at the time has not been available to help resolve the issue.
