Call to order at 5:16pm. Board Chair Larry Porn presiding.

Financial Report.
Treasurers Report.
The Board Chair reported that GFN received $370.00 interest last year.

GFN Status.
The ELGA checking account balance was $2536.70 on 01/20/2010 and $1806.71 on 01/29/2010.

Secretary Comments.
Need to ask Chad to post online the Board minutes for December, 2009.

Office Report.
A new church program for Baker college students is in operation across from the office at the same time the office is open to service GFN members. There was an unauthorized entry in the office during the week before the Board meeting, apparently because the GFN Linksys router was not working properly when needed. The router needs to be replaced and a new router is ready for installation.

Systems Report.
Scott Gifford is away. Chad needs Scott's help in relocating the mail server from the old server to the DELL machine. Chad hopes to have the database moved to the DELL by the next Board meeting. The RADIUS server was moved but still uses the old server at times.

With respect to the Web server, Drupal development continues for the SJV and MBEA sites. A Baker student, Joe Bean, may be available to work with Chad as soon as Baker College is satisfied with the monitoring GFN is able to provide for student course credit. Larry's niece, Kristen, is working with Drupal already and may be a potential volunteer for GFN Drupal site development. She needs to meet with Chad, Scott and Larry to develop an overall plan.

The Untangle server is running well and updated itself early today, before the Board meeting.

Robin Rabidue presented the name of Brian Edwards as a potential new mail server volunteer. Brian will be in Nevada until July.

Modems.
Ten (10) 123.com modems are running with monitoring software. A maximum of eight (8) modems are in use at the same but average usage is about two (2) modems at the same time. 123.com modem charge is $15 per modem per month based on average usage.

Twenty-three (23) Telnet PRI line modems cost $19 per modem per month. It was commented that GFN needs to better utilize the Telnet modems since 123.com only charges for average usage. Larry presented a printout of Telnet usage for the period 01/24/2010 through the morning of 01/28/2010. A maximum of twenty (20) Tier zero Telnet ports were in use at one time on 01/24/2010 with only one (1) Tier 1 Telnet port in use on 01/27/2010.

Other Old Business.
Nothing yet from Michigan NOW on the Board request for funding. Not yet done is the broadcast notification to members to vote for the continuing GFN Board.

New Business.
No input of hours worked by the system consultant.

Comments.
Nicolette Hodge volunteered to be the monitor for Baker student Joe Bean to satisfy Baker's rules for 120 hours of student course credit. Nicky also notified GFN to be aware that the church plans to steam clean the carpet in the office space. She plans to be around when the cleaning is done.

Nicky also passed around a list of GDL Library branches and asked Board members to sign up to distribute about ten (10) GFN account brochures to each of about eight (8) GDL branches. She has obtained permission from Trent Smiley to place GFN brochures at GDL Library branches.
