Deputy Michael Brackrog & Brit
After the 1999 Columbine Crisis and several local bomb threats at schools, Sheriff Pickell saw the need for Genesee County to protect it's citizens from similar incidents. Brit is a Belgian Malinios and was born in the Country of Holland. Brit started his career with the Genesee County Sheriff Department in January of 2000 when he was 20 months old. Deputy Brackrog and Brit trained together for 7 weeks at the Landheim Training Academy. Prior to this joint training, Brit spent an additional 9 weeks learning the different odors he would have to detect. Brit is trained to detect all types of explosives; Commercial, Military, & Weapons.
