PROCEDURE FOR POSTING BOND

There are several types of bonds.

A SURETY BOND is posted by a Bondsman only.  You can find the phone numbers of a bondsman in the phone book under Bail Bonds in the Yellow Pages.

A CASH BOND requires the full amount of the bond to be posted.  The bond may be placed in your name or the inmate’s name.  If you want the bond to be put in your name, you must have a valid picture ID.  Bonds may be posted by using cash (correct amount, no coins), or a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover).  If the bond is put in the inmate’s name, cash, cashier’s check, or a money order, may be placed in the inmate’s account via Visitor Screening, or by a Bond Sergeant.

A GENERAL BOND requires 10% of the bond to be posted:  Example - $2500.00 - $250.00.  The bond may be posted in your name, or the inmate’s name.  If the bond is to be posted in your name, you must have a valid ID.  Bonds may be posted by using cash (correct amount, no coins), or a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover).  If the bond is put in the inmate’s name, cash, cashier’s check, or money order may be placed in the inmate’s account via Visitor Screening or a Bond Sergeant.

FINES, COSTS, AND PURGE PAYMENTS may be posted by using cash (correct amount, no coins), credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover), or cashier’s check, or money order.  Cashier’s Checks and money orders must be in the inmate’s name, and dropped into the inmate’s account via Visitor Screening, or by a Bond Sergeant.  Fines, Costs, and Purge Payments will not be refunded.

CASH BONDS AND GENERAL BONDS, in most cases, are refunded back to the person whose name is shown as posting the bond.  The refund is generally mailed out to the individual after the case has been completed.
