AS IN SOME OTHER COUNCILS, THE TALL PINE COUNCIL DISTRIBUTES
MATERIALS FROM BSA HEADQUARTERS NECESSARY FOR THE SCOUT'S WORK ON
THE EAGLE RANK AT OUR STAR SEMINARS. WE PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR
SCOUTS, PARENTS, AND A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE TROOP TO ASK QUESTIONS,
THUS ASSURING THEY HAVE CURRENT INFORMATION. ATTENDANCE AT ONE OF
THESE SEMINARS IS VERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EAGLE
RANK CHANGE.
THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE WILL BE USED TO ATTEND THE STAR SEMINARS.
SCOUT:
1. The Scout earns the rank of Star Scout.
COUNCIL OFFICE:
1. The Council Office mails every Scout who earns the
rank of Star Scout a congratulatory letter with information
about the Star Seminar.
SCOUT:
1. The Scout notes the months Star Seminars are held
and discusses with his parents the seminar they wish
to attend.
2. The Scout calls the Council Office and registers
for the Star Seminar he wishes to attend. He notes the
place and time of the seminar.
COUNCIL OFFICE:
1. The Council Office maintains a list of all Scouts
who register.
2. The Council Office prepares a Star Seminar Packet
for each registered Scout. Parents and a Troop representatives
will not receive a packet.
DISTRICT ADVANCEMENT CHAIRMAN:
1: The District Advancement Chairman, makes arrangements
for the seminar, notifies the Council Office well in
advance of the date, time, and place of the seminar,
and picks up the packets for the Scouts.
2. Provides a sheet at each seminar for Scouts to sign-in.
The forms are returned and filed in the Council Office;
a copy is sent to each District Advancement Chairman.
3. The instructor gives each Scout attending a "proof
of attendance" form.
4. The instructor ensures that all the materials to
be handed out are current and present.
SCOUT:
1. The Scout ensures that he receives all the information
handed out at the seminar.
2. The Scout is responsible for all the materials distributed at
the seminar. These are the only copies he will receive.
3. The Scout signs the attendance sheet.
