Financial Assistance

The Tall Pine Council Campership Fund was established to assist registered youth members of the Tall Pine Council in attending a summer camping experience, which, due to financial hardship, they would otherwise be unable to attend. Camperships are intended to assist youth in participating in one Tall Pine Council sponsored summer camping activity. Campership applications will be considered for national high adventure expeditions (Philmont, Sea Base, National Jamboree, etc.) provided the Tall Pine Council is sponsoring the trip.

Eligibility
To be eligible for financial assistance, a youth must:
1. Be registered and in good standing with the Scout's unit.
2. Be in need of financial help in order to attend a summer camping experience.
3. Be recommended for aid by the Scout's unit.
4. Submit a complete Tall Pine Council Campership application prior to March 31, 2007.
(The committee appreciates your understanding that late or incomplete applications will not be considered. It is important that all requested information on the application be provided. Camperships are awarded based on the application form alone. This information is treated as confidential by the selection committee.)

Campership Notification
Notification of camperships awarded will be mailed to unit leaders prior to the due date for camp fee payment. The balance of fees beyond the campership award must be paid according to the published camp fee payment schedule.

Special Note
Camperships are not transferable. If a youth will be unable to use an awarded campership, please contact the finance department at the Scout Service Center so that another deserving youth may be considered.

Awarding of Camperships
The committee desires that camperships be awarded with a minimum of publicity. The Scout's family and unit leadership are the only people who need to know that a Scout has applied for or received a campership. Submitting an application is not a guarantee of an award. We wish the least possible disappointment if funds are insufficient to help every applicant.

Maximum Award
The normal limits on campership awards are up to one-half of the fee of the summer camp program for which the Scout is applying. Special hardship requests require a discussion with the Council Finance Director and Campership committee prior to submitting an application.
